BOSTON PIZZA NAMAO CENTRE & EDMONTON AC MILAN SOCCER CLUB

COMMUNITY LEAGUE "MINI" SOCCER CAMPS

Boston Pizza Namao Centre and Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club will be offering “mini” soccer camps for boys and girls community league youth teams. The purpose of the “mini” soccer camps is to provide community league players the opportunity to work with and learn from highly qualified instructors in a practice-like setting. Our goal is to help players develop their basic soccer skills and technical knowledge of the game. We also strive to ensure that the soccer experience is a positive one for all participants regardless of playing level. This community initiative originated out of a desire to support and assist teams at the community level.

Each “mini” camp will include:

• 1.75 hours of quality instruction.
• A Gatorade sponsored refreshment break.
• A Eurosport prize package for each camp.
• A Great Clips for Hair prize package for each camp.
• A Boston Pizza gift presented to each coach for their team.
• A Promotional Envelope from all of our sponsors to the players.

Instruction will be provided by coaches and players of the Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club. This highly qualified group consists of certified coaches, college players and local soccer stars. The three head instructors who initiated the program in the 2004 Outdoor Season include: Andrew Pagnotta, Jason Phillip and Thomas Perks.

Andrew Pagnotta is the President of the Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club. The club is maintaining three men’s teams, three woman’s teams and one classics ladies team. These teams play anywhere from Premier to Tier 4 soccer during the indoor and outdoor seasons within the Edmonton District Soccer Association. Andrew has coached and developed many of these teams since 1999. Andrew has considerable coaching experience, having also coached four years for Lorelie Beaumaris Community League while leading his team to two provincial titles. In addition, he was the soccer director for that league two of those four years. During his student teaching, Andrew coached at Cardinal Leger Junior High School. He has also conducted coaching clinics for the St. Albert Soccer Association and instructed youth camps for what is now Xtreme the Soccer Club. Andrew is “C” license certified and also a “Class 2” Referee in the Canadian National Referee Program.

Jason Phillip is the former Men’s Director of the Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club. Jason has also coached and developed many of the Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club teams since 2002. He has an impressive coaching and playing resume, with over 15 years experience as a coach, and many more as a player. Jason has coached players of all ages and all levels besides the Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club adult program. These include having coached Elwood U-5 to U-13, Raider’s U-11, Victoria U-12 to U-14, Inter U-18, and Croatia Masters Men. With this extensive coaching background, one can see why Jason is known throughout Edmonton as “coach”. Jason is “Pre-B” license certified and is currently focusing on his company Alberta Crowd Management.

Tom Perks has been playing competitive soccer for the past 25 years and his accomplishments over this time period are exceptional. As a youth player, Tom played on the Canadian U-16 national team that competed in the 1989 World Youth Cup in Scotland. More recently, Tom played for the University of Western Ontario Men’s Soccer Team from 1992 to 1997. During that time he won the OUAA West MVP and was honored as a 1st Team All-Canadian. Tom’s coaching experience is also noteworthy, having been assistant coach of the University of Western Ontario men’s team that won the CIS Men’s Soccer National Championship in 1998. As well, Tom was the program director and an instructor for the Canstar Soccer Program from 1997-1999. This was a week-long soccer development program for players between the ages of 6 and 15. Tom is “B” license certified and now works/resides in Lethbridge, Alberta as a professor at the University of Lethbridge.

The Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club is committed to sharing our knowledge and experience with all camp participants. We are prepared to work with coaches to streamline each session to address specific team needs. On a final note, there is no registration fee for these camps. All costs are covered by the Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club. For further information, please contact Andrew Pagnotta via email at edmontonacmilan@telus.net
